Precision Through Movement

At MAT METHD, movement is approached with intention. Each session is thoughtfully designed to build strength, improve control, and create a deeper connection between body and mind through rhythm-based instruction and purposeful progression.

By blending classical Pilates principles with a modern training approach, MAT METHD creates an experience that feels both grounded and elevated — challenging clients to move with greater awareness, confidence, and precision in every aspect of life.

Meet The Founders

MAT METHD was founded by Joanna Haitz and Amanda Gordon through a shared passion for intentional movement, elevated Pilates education, and creating a refined experience both on and beyond the mat.

While earning a Pilates certification is an incredible achievement, we recognized a gap between certification and truly stepping into the role of an instructor. MAT METHD was created to bridge that gap — offering not only the opportunity to become Nationally Certified through the NPCP, but also the confidence, tools, and real-world skills needed to lead with purpose and presence.

Anyone can become Pilates certified, but not everyone is prepared to instruct. We’re here to change that.

Joanna brings a rhythm-based, athletic, and intentional approach to Pilates. Her teaching style blends strength, control, and purposeful progression while creating movement experiences that feel empowering, connected, and deeply rooted in the MAT METHD philosophy. As a mom to 3— Joanna recognizes that not every body is the same and it’s something that should be celebrated— never shamed.

Amanda brings a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to Pilates with an emphasis on alignment, precision, and movement education. Her teaching supports clients and future instructors in building confidence, awareness, and a strong foundation through intentional movement. Also a mom— Amanda’s knowledge for the pre and post natal stages for women is nothing short of phenomenal.

Summer has been sharing her love of movement for over seven years as a fitness instructor and has been teaching Pilates for the last five. She loves helping clients feel stronger, move better, and have fun while doing it. When she’s not in the studio, you’ll find her teaching as an accounting professor, spending time with her husband, and hanging out with her two dogs. Whether she’s leading a Pilates class or balancing spreadsheets, Summer brings energy, passion, and a smile to everything she does!
